Lake City Partners Ending Homelessness sent out notice of a special appeal to maintain the heating, roof, and plumbing systems of their 1953 building, which several of our parishioners helped to renovate before it was turned into a shelter 5 years ago. They are asking for a birthday gift of any size, not for upgrades, but just to keep it running, assure that minimum safety conditions are met.
In 2025 alone, Aurora Oaks served 242 individuals and helped 124 people move into permanent supportive housing. With 65 beds, this shelter is a critical hub in our King County community. This shelter replaced the winter shelters that several NE churches, including OLL, provided for several years despite the challenges of monthly moves, and limited space and facilities in church basements and halls.
