Dear Friends in Christ,
As we draw near to the close of Advent and the formal beginning of the celebration of Christmas, one word keeps speaking to my heart and mind. It is the word “Welcome.” The liturgy invites us to open our hearts in welcome to the newborn Prince of Peace, whose birth we will soon celebrate. The only way we can honestly welcome the “Word made flesh” is to welcome all his brothers and sisters who make up the human family around the world, and across time and space. So, I invite everyone in our NE Seattle Catholic Community to be ambassadors of welcome to all who will join us to celebrate Christmas this year. Let our welcome be unconditional, friendly, kind, and sincere to all who will gather to celebrate the nativity of the Lord. That includes people from around the world who find themselves in Seattle this Christmas for whatever reason. We are so very glad and honored that you can join us. Please know you are most welcome in our family of parishes.
