Esperanza 2026 - It’s a Wrap! Muchas Gracias for the community’s support and blessings for our safe and rewarding journey to Tijuana last month. 17 of our youth and 4 chaperones worked in the La Moritas neighborhood, completing the walls to Mariela and her young son's home and helping pour the floor for Alejandro and Nancy's home. We were inland, so the weather was hotter than normal, but our youth opened their hearts to the families and flexed their muscles stacking and securing handmade blocks, making and hauling cement, and tying rebar. The Esperanza staff guided us, and community members lightened our load by working side by side with us. We were also able to spend a few hours at the Missionaries of Charity shelter and soup kitchen established by Mother Teresa, serving a meal to the poorest of the poor. The shelter also provides medical care and temporary lodging. The sisters are beautiful extensions of God's love and caring.
