Dear Friends in Christ,
The academic year is ending for schools in the area, including our three parish schools. I want to take the opportunity to offer my thanks to all our faculty, staff, and parent volunteers who make our schools such vibrant and faith-filled learning communities. Special thanks to our principals, Kathleen Conklin (ASB), Kate Orizotti (OLL), and Kathy Cox (St.C), for their excellent leadership of our schools. Congratulations and best wishes as well to our recent graduates.
While our parish life is year-round, this seems like a good opportunity to publicly thank those who minister to our faith communities. I am deeply grateful for the generous collaboration of Fr. Duc Nguyen and the help of Fr. Bob Camuso and Fr. Daniel Syverstad OP. Thanks also to Deacon Denny Duffell for the way he serves our NE Seattle Catholic Community.
People ask me on a regular basis how I can possibly serve as pastor of four parishes. My answer is that I could not do anything without the help of our generous and dedicated parish staff. My thanks to all of them, especially those who serve with Fr. Duc and me on our parish leadership team: Torrie Smith, Director of Operations, Kristin Holland, Director of Liturgy, and Jody Fitts, Pastoral Assistant. Thanks as well to our Communications Director, Susie Lane, and Jakub Pruss, our Facilities Supervisor. The various ministries we offer through our parishes would not be possible without the help of all our staff and the many parishioners who help as volunteers. A big THANKS to you all!
Finally, I am grateful for each and every one of you who grace our NE Seattle Catholic Community with your presence at Mass, your prayers, your support of our children and youth, your outreach to the poor, and all the ways you support the mission of the church with your time, talent and treasure.
