LENTEN REFLECTION GROUP
Please join us for a Lenten Reflection Group to read and discuss the book, “Saving Us: A Climate Scientist’s Case for Hope and Healing in a Divided World,” by Katharine Hayhoe.
Here are some quotes from the book to give you a feel for what it’s about:
+ I’ve lived here for 30 years, and the weather is just getting weirder. (page 97)
+ Ours is the first generation to deeply understand the damage we are doing to our planetary household and probably the last generation with a chance to do something about it. (page 97)
+ We are so locked into our political identities that there is virtually no candidate, no information, no condition that can force us to change our minds. (page 49)
+ Walking out is not an option. We don’t get to give up. This planet is the only home we will ever have. (page 151)
+ The planet will survive. The question is whether we will be here to witness it. (page 185)
The 5 sessions will be held on each Wednesday during the month of March, starting March 1, from 7-8 pm in the Assumption Fellowship Hall. The book can be obtained from the Seattle Public Library in a hardcover, e-book, or downloadable audio format. It can also be purchased from Amazon for $14 in Hardcover or Kindle format. Questions?
