Volunteers in ministry, especially lectors, and all parishioners, please join us for our Spring Retreat.
SCRIPTURE ALIVE! Saturday, May 2nd at St. Mary’s by the Lake, 1663 Killarney Way, Bellevue, WA, 9:30 am - 4:00 pm.
You will learn/strengthen a Catholic approach to praying and understanding the Bible:
Why Catholics take the Bible seriously but not necessarily literally.
Review what Christians did for the 400 years when there was no New Testament and how and when the NT was compiled.
Reflect on insights from Catholic biblical scholars regarding the unique profile of Jesus presented in each Gospel.
Examine the Church’s method of Biblical interpretation: the Biblical text, how it was interpreted in history/tradition, and what both say to the current situation of the Church in the world today.
